Stonehenge Aqua Not (Coldpress) is a superb paper for watercolour painters since it has a rugged, textured surface that naturally receives applied moisture. This makes it ideal for the blending and lifting of colour and enables you to create atmospheric complex paintings.
Stonehenge Aqua is a high-quality watercolour paper that performs excellently with wet-on-wet applications or wet-on-dry applications. It’s crispness and excellent quality enables it to anchor work beautifully no matter what the technique. Lifting and blending are a dream on this paper, allowing you the control you need to produce strong, accomplished work. Its absorbency is perfect for preventing bright colours drying to a dull tone. The flat paper dries flat and resists buckling, whether you’re using blocks or sheets. Legion Stonehenge Black Aqua Watercolor Pads-100% Cotton 300gsm
Black paper is not a new invention, but black 100% cotton paper sized for watercolors is. Legion Stonehenge Aqua Cold Press Black is the first of its kind.
In creating this paper, Legion worked directly with artists and also used its vast experience gained from producing new papers for emerging markets. The result is a superior-quality, 140 lb (300 gsm) black watercolor paper that is pH-neutral, acid-free, lignin-free, and chlorine-free. Because it's synthetically sized, it contains no animal gelatin. It offers the opportunity to build light into paintings, transform negative space into positive space, and find new avenues for expression.
Developed for use with metallic, pearlescent, iridescent, and interference watercolor paints, Stonehenge Aqua Cold Press Black Watercolor Paper also welcomes gouache, acrylics, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, pigment sticks, pastels, pens, markers, gel pens, and alcohol inks. The surface accepts multiple layers of color in a controllable manner, and has excellent color holdout — which means bright colors remain bright after drying. Colors lift well and blend perfectly.
